Daytona-area restaurants release exclusive menus. Here's what to try

For years, Daytona Beach’s food scene has steadily expanded beyond oceanfront staples and casual tourist fare, with a growing number of chef-driven concepts, upscale dining rooms and independently owned restaurants reshaping what a night out can look like in the area.

Beginning June 1, The Art of Dining, a new dining month initiative launched by the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, hopes to place that evolution front and center, inviting participating restaurants to showcase the flavors they believe best represent Daytona’s culinary identity through curated, prix fixe menus.

“The Art of Dining is a celebration of the incredible culinary experiences that we have within the Daytona Beach area,” Lori Campbell Baker, executive director of the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, said in a recent release.

“From innovative chefs and locally inspired menus to waterfront fine dining and hidden gems, this month-long event invites both residents and visitors to discover the diverse flavors that make our destination so unique,” she continued. “We’re proud to spotlight the restaurants who help create unforgettable experiences for everyone who visits Daytona Beach.”

The participant lineup includes eight local restaurants from Ormond Beach to the Shores, each serving unique three-course menus, priced at $60 or $75, until June 30.

So, what’s for dinner?

From upscale seafood dinners to scratch-made Latin dishes, each menu served during The Art of Dining will offer locals and visitors alike “the chance to discover (or rediscover)” several of the Daytona area’s top spots for romantic date nights, celebratory dinners and everything in between.

According to the official Art of Dining website, Ormond’s 63 Sovereign restaurant will showcases a three-course menu with the guest’s choice of appetizer — seasonal salad, fried Brussels in a maple bourbon gochujang glaze or poke crisps; entrée — butterflied and char-grilled Mexican-style branzino, steak frites or chicken skewers; and dessert — peanut butter pie or panna cotta.

Cast & Crew, previously named among the top waterfront restaurants in the Daytona Beach area, will serve a three-course menu that includes, but is not limited to, seafood dumplings with spicy mayo, grilled salmon, braised airline chicken breast and a chocolate-covered Dutch bossche bol.

Recognized among the area’s top romantic restaurants, Chucherias’ menu will feature 10 different dishes between appetizers, entrees and desserts, including its Spanish-style octopus, an 8-ounce prime beef tenderloin steak, slow-roasted pork with sweet plantains and tres leches cake.

The Art of Dining concludes June 30. For information and to view the full menus from all participating restaurants visit daytonabeach.com/food-and-drink/the-art-of-dining.
