Danfoss Turbocor is still in the running and needs your help in the “Coolest Thing Made in Florida” Competition hosted by the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
Headquartered in Denmark, the Danish company is the world’s leading producer of oil-free compressors and has a growing manufacturing facility within Innovation Park in Tallahassee. Just last month, it was among three Tallahassee companies in the competition.
Here’s how voting works: It’s all open to the public. The Chamber’s website said a person may cast one vote per email address per day when voting is open. Once an email has been used to cast a vote, it cannot be used to cast another vote in the popular vote round or same bracket match-up until 24 hours has elapsed.
Frank Ford, vice president of sales and marketing, said the company is proud to still be in the competition.
“This recognition belongs to our entire Tallahassee team and reflects the innovation, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and commitment to energy-efficient technology that they bring to work every day,” said Ford, in a statement to the Tallahassee Democrat. “Products manufactured here in Florida are helping provide reliable, sustainable cooling for critical applications around the world, and we are honored to represent both Leon County and Florida’s growing manufacturing community.”

Now in its second year, the Chamber’s competition this year launched with more than 100 Florida-made products.
It was narrowed down to 32 companies and products last month and voting is now set for the Top 16, Top Eight, Top Four before the final round of voting to name one product the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Florida.

The competition is designed to showcase the state’s manufacturing muscle and produce more jobs in time, all while supporting the Floriida Chamber Foundation’s Florida 2030 Blueprint goal of making Florida a Top 5 state for manufacturing jobs by 2030.
Florida’s manufacturing sector is responsible for more than 426,000 jobs.
