A three-vehicle crash has closed southbound lanes of U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce on the morning of April 3, officials said.
The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of U.S. 1, said Fort Pierce police officials.
It happened in front of Mickey’s Restaurant and involved three vehicles, said St. Lucie County Fire District Division Chief Daniel Mikels. A person had to be extricated from a vehicle.
One person involved in the crash was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce as a trauma alert, Mikels said. Another was taken there in stable condition.
Police officials advised motorists to avoid the area and expect delays.
