A Deltona woman shot at an Orange City woman in what Volusia Sheriff’s deputies said was an ongoing dispute on social media, and then proceeded to hold off authorities in a five-hour standoff, agency reports show.
It was not immediately known what the dispute was about, but the incident landed Ines Jonjic, 29, in jail on a charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle. She was in the Volusia County Branch Jail on May 6 without bail.
No injuries were reported in the May 5 incident, but the Orange City victim’s car sustained a flat tire and bullet-riddled windows, investigating deputies said.
A juvenile with Jonjic was detained after he was found to be in violation of his probation and was breaking his curfew, deputies said.
Attempt to end social media dispute gets Orange City woman shot at, deputies said
Sheriff’s deputies said they were initially called to an assault/battery incident in the 1100 block of Hemmingway Drive in Deltona. The victim called deputies an hour after she was shot at, reports show.
The Orange City woman told deputies that there was an ongoing social media dispute between her and Jonjic, so she decided to drive to Jonjic’s house to talk to her, deputies noted in the report.
The victim said she drove past Jonjic’s home and saw her and the juvenile standing outside the Hemmingway Drive home, deputies said.
The Orange City woman turned around and drove back to the house and stopped in front of the home, according to deputies.
Jonjic then started shooting at the victim’s vehicle, forcing her to flee the scene. The Orange City woman realized she had a flat tire, and instead of immediately calling police, she called roadside assistance, had her tire repaired, and drove home, deputies noted in their report.
“(The victim) advised no words were exchanged between them prior to (Jonjic) shooting,” deputies wrote in the report.
Deputies contacted the victim at her Orange City home and discovered bullet holes in the both the back passenger and driver’s side rear window, the report detailed.

Deputies responded to the scene of the shooting at Hemmingway Drive and watched the house as investigators worked to get a search warrant, the report said.
Jonjic stayed inside her home, even after deputies called to her to come out. She held deputies off for five hours, the report noted.
“After approximately five hours of announcements, (Jonjic) finally retreated out of the residence and complied with lawful orders,” deputies wrote in the report.
The juvenile and Jonjic’s two children also exited the home, deputies said.
The juvenile, also considered a suspect in the shooting, was found in violation of his curfew, deputies said.
The shooting remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office, the report noted.
