Heading to sweet home, Alabama? Contour Airlines is bringing back its seasonal nonstop service from Florida, starting in May.
The summer service for the Tennessee-based regional carrier will run between Pensacola International Airport (PNS) and Northwest Alabama Regional Airport (MSL) in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, on Contour’s 30-seat regional jet. The route made its debut in Pensacola last year.
The new route is one of three seasonal routes starting May 6 in Pensacola, along with nonstop flights to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Contour’s President, Ben Munson, said in an April 23 release that the route offered a stress-free way to reach “one of the Gulf Coast’s most popular beach destinations without the need to drive to a larger airport.”
Flights include “extra legroom, complimentary snacks and beverages, and one free checked bag with every fare,” the release said. Tickets to Alabama are available now at Contour’s website, starting at $119 one-way.
“We’re excited to welcome back Contour Airlines’ nonstop service to Muscle Shoals for a second year,” Pensacola International Airport’s executive director, Matt Coughlin, said in the release. “This route strengthens connectivity between two vibrant regions and reflects the continued demand for convenient, regional air service.
“Our partnership with Contour has been instrumental in expanding travel options for our passengers, and we’re proud to see this service return as we continue building a more connected future for Pensacola and the surrounding communities.”

What is Contour Airlines?
Contour Airlines is a budget carrier offering a complimentary first-checked bag and snack and beverage service on all flights, along with leather seating and expanded legroom in every row. Started in 2016, Contour is an independent regional airline based out of Smyrna, Tennessee, with regional airliners for commercial service and business jets for private charter.
Pensacola is one of the two Florida cities that Contour services currently. A seasonal route between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Macon, Georgia, returns on June 9.
Previous routes at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) and Tampa International Airport (TPA) were dropped due to low demand.
