Chef Uday Kadam has been feeding Clermont for more than a decade.
Now, the jovial, familiar face and owner of Guru Indian Restaurant is expanding his local culinary footprint with a new establishment and expansive new weekend dining experience.
Starting Aug. 2, the award-winning restaurateur is launching a weekly Sunday Brunch at The Venue, Clermont’s newest multipurpose event space. The goal is straightforward: bring the lavish, high-end buffet experience typically reserved for Orlando resorts directly to Lake County, without the premium price tag or the I-4 commute.
Running every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the all-you-can-eat spread is priced at $34.95 for adults and $19.95 for children under 12.
The menu is built around interactive and chef-attended stations. Diners can navigate through a fresh garden salad bar, a bakery and toaster setup, and a build-your-own yogurt and berry station.
For the main courses, the brunch features a live carving station with slow-roasted prime rib and salmon, alongside made-to-order omelets and a rotating selection of classic hot brunch favorites.
A fully stocked dessert and gourmet cookie bar rounds out the meal, and unlimited fresh-brewed iced tea and chilled infused water are included.
For Kadam, who is highly active in local community efforts, The Venue is an opportunity to offer Lake County families a relaxed, upscale environment to gather and celebrate right in their own backyard.
“As an entrepreneur, I love to keep busy and try new venture,” Kadam told the Daily Commercial.
“Business and the world of restaurants keep changing. I wanted to try something completely different for Clermont and South Lake. I decided to take over the space to host private events and special functions, like weddings, holiday parties, corporate events, showers, galas, retirement parties and fundraisers. Besides hosting a series of private and corporate events at The Venue, I will soon create a new series of exciting ongoing weekly events with various foods, entertainment, and decorations to celebrate every holiday.”
Clermont’s newest event space is also hosting the Premier Wedding Expo for engaged couples and their families. Meet face-to-face with top local vendors — including photographers, florists, DJs, cake designers and travel planners — while enjoying complimentary appetizers, door prizes and a chance to win $500 off an event booking.

According to Kadam, he has just enough on his plate with his restaurant and The Venue.
