In 2012, Davies was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison for a similar charge. He wrote and delivered a letter to an official from the Lee County Jail threatening to kill former President Barack Obama.

He was arraigned by the federal court of the Middle District of Florida on Thursday, May 29.

He is scheduled to appear for a jury trial on July 1.
