The winner of The Players Championship got off to a strong start at the 2026 Cadillac Championship, the PGA Tour’s return to Florida.
Cameron Young made easy work of the Blue Monster Course at Trump National Doral, shooting a bogey-free round of 8-under 64 to take the lead heading into Round 2. Jordan Spieth and Alex Smalley also played well in the first round, coming into today one stroke off the lead at 7 under. Nick Taylor closed with four birdies in the final six holes to get to two strokes back.
Gary Woodland, Sahith Theegala, Akshay Bhatia and Justin Thomas enter the second round in good position, as do Rickie Fowler, Min Woo Lee, Max Homa and Kristoffer Reitan, who was a late addition to the field after Jake Knapp withdrew with a thumb injury. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler started strong with three birdies over the first five holes, but back-to-back bogeys to open the back nine have him sitting at 1 under coming into Day 2.
