Bucs' linebacker labeled as a trade candidate by Bleacher Report

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already received one trade request from a defensive starter, but Bleacher Report believes there’s another player the team could actually consider moving before the 2026 season begins.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox named linebacker SirVocea Dennis as Tampa Bay’s potential trade candidate. While Vita Vea has requested a trade, Knox argued that keeping the defensive tackle should be a priority for a Bucs team trying to return to the postseason.

Dennis is a different situation. The 2023 fifth-round pick started 16 games for Tampa Bay last season and had some positive moments, but Knox pointed toward his struggles as reasons the Bucs could consider moving him. Dennis missed 15 tackles and allowed a 122.0 opposing passer rating in coverage.

His contract situation also plays into it. Dennis is entering the final year of his rookie deal at the same time Tampa Bay has reshaped its inside linebacker room following Lavonte David’s retirement.

The Bucs signed Alex Anzalone and Christian Rozeboom before using a second-round pick on Josiah Trotter. Those additions have created more competition for Dennis despite the experience he gained as a starter last season.

Knox doesn’t expect Dennis to command a significant return, but he believes there could still be a market for the 26-year-old among teams looking for linebacker depth. Dennis has appeared in 33 games with 16 starts since entering the league.

Whether Tampa Bay actually considers a move remains to be seen. For now, Dennis has a training camp competition to navigate, and Bleacher Report believes the Bucs’ new additions could make him expendable if another team comes calling.
