Bethune-Cookman will take part in a 24-hour men’s basketball marathon to kick off the 2026-27 season.
The Field of 68, a college hoops network, is reviving a day-long tipoff special like ESPN hosted for nearly a decade. ESPN’s version ended in 2017.
It will feature eight games between 16 mid-major programs on Nov. 2.
The Wildcats will compete in the final leg. They’ll face Furman at 8 p.m. in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
“The schedule to open the college basketball season has been awful for years with the best teams in the country playing bottom-feeders, sometimes even non-D1 opponents,” Field of 68 co-founder Jeff Goodman said. “Fans wanted us to bring the 24-hour marathon back, and we wanted to create some of the best mid-major matchups in doing so.”
Furman (22-13) made the NCAA Tournament last spring after winning the Southern Conference title. It fell to UConn in the first round.
B-CU (17-15) has never advanced to March Madness, though it looked to have a shot last year. It entered the SWAC bracket as the No. 1 seed after capturing the regular-season crown. But Prairie View A&M pulled a conference tourney upset.
Here’s a look at the marathon’s full slate. All games will stream on the Field of 68’s YouTube channel and X.
