Breeze Airways is following up recent new routes to airports in Daytona Beach and Vero Beach with two more routes coming to West Palm Beach, a new one and a returning one.
Seasonal service from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) to Richmond, Virginia (RIC), and resumed service to Akron-Canton (CAK) in Ohio started up Sept. 5, the Utah-based company said in an email.
Each route runs twice weekly, the airline said, and introductory fares start at $59 one-way.
“These nonstops to Richmond and Akron-Canton mark our fifth and sixth nonstop destinations from West Palm Beach as we continue to connect travelers to beautiful south Florida,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways founder and CEO in the email.
“These routes will make it more convenient and affordable for Guests to travel to and from these destinations and we look forward to welcoming them on a future flight,” Neeleman said.
Previously announced route between Pensacola and Bentonville-Fayetteville, Arkansas and Akron-Canton, Ohio and Jacksonville started earlier this week.
New routes latest in Breeze push into Florida
The ultra-low-cost airline has added nearly 20 new routes to the Sunshine state in 2025, including new service to Fort Lauderdale.
Breeze also announced a new high-priority boarding option, BreezeBy, which allows passengers to board immediately after pre-boarding has ended. Travelers can either buy the option for a fee, or get as an included perk with the airline’s Nicest ticket bundle.

What is Breeze Airways?
The low-cost, Utah-based airline kicked off in 2021 with a flight from Tampa to Charleston. It was founded by Neeleman, who also helped start four other airlines: JetBlue, Morris Air, WestJet and Azul Linhas Aereas.
Breeze bills itself as the “seriously nice” airline with super-cheap air fares if you just buy a ticket with no frills. Travelers wanting “extras” such as checked and carry-on bags, seat selection, more legroom, and changes or cancellations can pay fees to get them. The airline focuses on secondary airports and bypasses some hubs for “faster travel times,” Breeze’s site says.
Other airports seeing big turnovers in Florida
Meanwhile, Florida-based airline Spirit Airlines is struggling through a second bankruptcy inside of a year by cutting costs and eliminating routes to 11 cities (none in the Sunshine State) while competitor Frontier Airlines is capitalizing on the opening by announcing 42 new routes, including several at Spirit’s Fort Lauderdale hub.
