A fourth grade student at Bond Elementary School was caught with a BB gun in a backpack Wednesday morning.
A report of a “weapons incident” appeared on the the city’s online crime map around 8:45 a.m. on May 6, but a Leon County Schools spokesperson said no threats were made to the school and no students or teachers were in danger.
The student wasn’t detained or arrested but will be disciplined according to the student code of conduct, LCS said.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office typically issues incident alerts when such cases happen at middle or high schools. A spokesperson said because there was no arrest, there would be no alert.
