BUNNELL — Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly at a press conference Monday afternoon Feb. 23, announced the discovery of a body believed to be a missing person from a 2003 cold case.
Deputies located Mary Lou Combs’ vehicle upside down in the Intracoastal in October, Staly said, with what they strongly believe is Combs’ body inside. They are awaiting DNA confirmation.
Combs, who was 41 at the time of her disappearance, was last seen leaving her home on Armand Beach Drive in Palm Coast on Aug. 19, 2003, after an argument with her mother.
Her family reported her missing on Oct. 9, 2003. At the time of her disappearance, Combs had a 14-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter.
