A 38-year-old bicyclist has died from injuries sustained after he was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Davis Road just west of Lake Worth Beach two days before, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Domingo Martin was hit by a white Chevrolet pickup truck on Dec. 10 when he was traveling southbound on Davis Road. He died Dec. 12.
Martin was riding his bicycle southbound as the driver of the truck was traveling northbound on Davis Road. As both vehicles approached each other, Martin rode into the northbound lane and path of the truck when the crash happened.
The bicycle overturned and Martin was ejected onto the roadway. The unknown driver of the truck stopped the vehicle and then sped away northbound.
The truck is believed to be a 2006 or 2007 model with minor front-end damages.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to contact Investigator Robert Stephan of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at 561-688-3400 (reference case number 25-124714 or 25-124712).
