Residents in the new Avenir community, as well as those in The Acreage and nearby Ibis, will soon have reason to rejoice… at least if they love classic, New York City bagels.
H&H Bagels is opening in Palm Beach Gardens!
The new restaurant will open Monday, Aug. 17 at 12465 Northlake Boulevard in Avenir Town Center and will mark the third H&H Bagels in Palm Beach County.
The first local outpost opened in Boca Raton in fall 2024 followed by an opening in West Palm Beach’s Nora District, about a year later.
The new franchise is owned and operated by Marc Schultz and partner Chris Greco, who also own and operate both the Boca Raton and West Palm Beach locations.
Founded in 1972, H&H Bagels is practically synonymous with New York City bagels and though South Florida is not ‘the city,’ patrons can be sure they’re getting the real deal.
Schultz said that despite being in Florida, these are true New York City bagels. Made with non-GMO, unbromated & unbleached flour, they are proofed, kettle-boiled, bathed in cold water and then flash frozen in New York before being shipped to Florida. He said they arrive frozen within two days.
Once at the store, they’re finished exactly the same way they are in New York City. “All of our shops have these crazy special ovens for finishing them just how they are made in the city,” he said. “It’s the exact same process.”
Though most people understand the pop-culture ties to this worthy bagel, if you’re a newbie to this legendary restaurant this is the bagel that has been immortalized in shows and movies like “Seinfeld,” “The Office,” “Sex and the City,” “Entourage,” “You’ve Got Mail,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and many more.
The menu at the Palm Beach Gardens location will feature the same known and loved NYC classics, including the bacon, egg, and cheese and the Nova Salmon with “The Works,” Classic spread sandwiches are available, including a variety of cream cheese flavors, such as scallion, spicy scallion, veggie and strawberry, as well as the classic bagel options customers love including plain, everything, sesame, cinnamon raisin, jalapeño cheddar, whole wheat, egg, pumpernickel, and more. Specialty sandwiches are also on the menu, including the Southwest Turkey and The Gardener.
Though customers can begin their bagel binges on Monday, Aug. 17, the official grand opening will take place a few days later on Thursday, Aug. 20. The celebration will include a special H&H Bagels tote bag that will include an H&H gift card ranging from $5 to $100, for the first 250 customers.
