Beau Esprit Custom Framing nailed down two wins in round two of the city of Destin’s Upper Division Coed Softball Tournament at Morgan Sports Center on April 29. Beau Esprit beat Campbell’s Tree Care 28-18, then edged Elite Motorsports 19-17.
In the first game, both teams came out of the gate strong, scoring 10 runs each.
In the bottom of the second, Beau Esprit began to pull away with eight runs and then picked up one more in the third for a 19-10 advantage over Tree Care.
In the top of the fourth, Tree Care scored three runs and then four in the fifth to close the gap.
In the bottom of the fifth, Beau Esprit exploded for nine runs for a 28-17 advantage.
Tree Care scored one last run in the top of the sixth.
Roman Donofro led Beau Esprit with a home run, two doubles and a single for six RBIs. Neil Barlow doubled and hit three singles for four RBIs; Summer Sullivan tripled and hit a double for two RBIs, and Shawn Wood slapped a grand slam.
Matt Campbell was top for Tree Service with a double and two singles for two RBIs. Aurbrey Claxton hit two singles for two RBIs, and Nelson Santiago doubled for two RBIs.
In Beau Esprit’s second game, they took an early lead and held on for a 19-17 win over Elite.
Beau Esprit scored the 10-run limit in the first inning and then picked up two more runs in the third for a 12-7 lead.
In the top of the fourth, Beau Esprit scored one. Elite rallied in the bottom half to even the score with six runs.
In the fifth, both teams scored one run for a 14-14 deadlock.
In the top of the sixth, Beau Esprit scored five runs and then held Elite scoreless in the bottom half.
In the bottom of the seventh, Elite came up short with only three runs.
Tops for Beau Esprit were Paul Barlow with two doubles and a single for two RBIs; Summer Sullivan, double and two singles for two RBIs; and Roman Donofro, homer and a triple for three RBIs.
Evan Hicks knocked in five runs for Elite on two home runs and two singles. Tanner Fittes hit a double and two singles for an RBI, and Cici Faulkner tripled and singled for an RBI. Caleb Love hit a home run.
In other tournament action:
Reissue I 19, Reissue II 13
Down 9-3 at the end of three innings, Reissue I staged a comeback in the top of the fourth to score nine runs for a 12-9 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth, Reissue II scored two runs.
Reissue I had another big turn at bat in the top of the seventh to score seven runs for a 19-11 advantage. Reissue II scored two runs in the bottom half.
Jeremi Julo led Reissue I with a double and three singles for an RBI. Michael Haynes hit a homer and two doubles for four RBIs, and Chandler Ciereszewski connected for two doubles and a single for three RBIs.
Bran Williams knocked in six RBIs for Reissue II on two homers and a single. Jason Little hit four singles, and Noah Bailey hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs.

8 p.m. – Reissue 1 vs. Winner of 6:30 p.m. game.
