The Bartow City Commission will delay its deliberations on the proposed Emilie at Bartow housing developments at the request of the developer, a city Facebook post said.
The applications had been made by CBD Real Estate Investment, owned by developer David Waronker of Celebration for Emilie East and West, containing 2,382 proposed new housing units.
The proposed developments were set for a vote on changes to the current land use and creation of a planned development Monday, Nov. 3, during the commission’s regularly scheduled meeting. The city said the Emilie projects will be on the next meeting agenda.
“Because of the previously announced absence of one of the commissioners at the Nov. 3 City Commission meeting, the developer of the proposed Emilie East and West projects has requested that the five agenda items related to their projects be continued to the Nov. 17 meeting to allow them the opportunity to present to the full 5-member Commission,” the Facebook post said.
Bartow’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 27 voted against approval of the projects. The planning board’s vote is not binding on the City Commission, which will make the final decision.
