This year’s West Palm Beach GreenMarket has featured a record 150 vendors, including 45 new ones, ranging from classic fresh produce, seafood and baked goods, to gourmet coffee, smoothies, fresh cut flowers, prepared foods, frozen treats, organic pet foods and much, much more.

This season also featured another quite notable achievement: a return to national glory.

In case you missed last month’s announcement, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket retook the title “Best Farmers Market” in the nation as determined by readers in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers Choice Awards.

Ranked No. 1 from 2021 to 2023, the market had fallen to runner up in 2024 and 25.

The wildly popular market bested last year’s number one, Soda City Market in Columbia, South Carolina, which was relegated to second place. The market that beat West Palm Beach and took top honors in 2024, Worthington Farmers Market in Worthington, Ohio, came in seventh.

This mecca of outdoor of outdoor shopping, dining, culinary classes, occasional live music, socializing, happy pups and good times was started in 1995 by then Mayor Nancy Graham. Starting out with only 13 vendors, the market’s incredible growth is a testament to Graham’s vision and has become a destination for shopping and gathering for both residents and visitors.

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket will open its 2026-27 season on Saturday, Oct. 3.
