Amazon Prime members, get ready! Amazon’s biggest sale event of the year, Amazon Prime Day, is coming early in 2026.
The yearly sale is typically held in July, but the company announced in April that this year it will fall in June.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?
Amazon confirmed in April that Amazon Prime Day will be held in June instead of July this year. Amazon Prime Day 2026 will begin on June 23 and conclude on June 26, lasting about four days.
In 2025, the promotion lasted for four days in July and was the most successful Prime Day yet, according to Amazon. The move to June officially makes this one of the earliest Prime Days since it began in 2015.
“Last year’s event saw record-breaking sales, with Prime Day 2025 being the biggest Prime Day event ever,” an Amazon news release said.
“Customers saved billions on deals across more than 35 product categories—more savings than any previous Prime Day event. Independent sellers—most of which are small and medium-sized businesses—also hit new milestones in both sales and items sold.”

Amazon Prime Day is an online shopping event for Amazon Prime members the company started in 2015, to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Prime Day has since exploded in popularity and will include four days of deals this year. It started as just one day and expanded into a 24-hour sale in 2017 and a 36-hour sale in 2018.
While not every item on Amazon’s platform is eligible for Prime Day deals, Prime members can find deals on a wide array of brands and products. To participate in most of Amazon’s Prime Day deals, you need to have an Amazon Prime membership.

How long do Prime Day deals last?
Amazon Prime Day started as a single day in July 2015 and has since grown into an annual multi-day shopping event for Prime members. Last year was the first time the promotion lasted for four days. Amazon Prime Day 2025 deals began on Tuesday, July 8, and ended on Friday, July 11.
How many times a year is Prime Day?
Prime Day only happens once each year, in the summer. But in recent years, Amazon added a similar sales event in October to kick off early holiday shopping, called Prime Big Deal Days.
If Amazon stays consistent with the last few years and holds the promotion in the first two weeks of October, Prime Big Deal Days 2026 will likely land on Tuesday, October 6, and Wednesday, October 7.

Is everything on Amazon on sale during Prime Day?
Not everything on Amazon is on sale for Prime Day. The annual discount days have discounts for Prime members across almost every product category, but it isn’t a site-wide sale.
