Turnpike's southbound lanes reopen after truck crash near Delray sends 14 to hospital

All lanes have been cleared after a crash involving multiple vehicles closed the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike on June 4 near Delray Beach, Florida 511 reported on its X account.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reported 14 people received care at local hospitals — one of them at a trauma center — following the wreck, which took place south of Atlantic Avenue and involved a semi-truck and multiple other vehicles.

First responders found that two sport utility vehicles, one minivan and a semi-tractor-trailer hauling automobiles were involved. Fire Rescue declared the crash a mass casualty incident.

A total of 10 fire rescue trucks and 25 personnel responded to the incident.
