Yes, folks, we’re in the middle of the dreaded dog days of August, and, yes, things are slowing down event-wise as we shelter in the AC from storms and record-breaking heat, but fun stuff, believe it or not, is still happening if the cabin fever starts getting to you.
‘Adult Comedy Night’ brings laughs to Fruitland Park
Orlando-based comedian and podcast host Jesse Chudeusz describes himself as “not your typical stand-up comedian” and the owner of “a razor-sharp wit and a knack for pushing boundaries,” shares his observations and emcees a night of comedy in northwestern Lake County, featuring co-headliners Frankie Paul and Dean Napolitano.
Paul touches on everything from fishing to scuba diving and female bodybuilders to marriage, kids and how we choose the animals we eat. A three-and-a-half-decade vet onstage, he’s known for his knack for the unexpected and high energy.
Napolitano riffs on his Italian-American upbringing and considers himself a throwback to a bygone era of comedy. Born in Long Island, he has performed the comedy circuit throughout Florida and has appeared in a variety of TV series, including the NBC shows “Heroes” and “Las Vegas” (NBC) and “The Shield” (FX).
Catch these jokesters at the Fruitland Park Gardenia Center, 205 W. Berckman St., from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, available at eventbrite.com.
