Despite Florida seeing headlines for its lackluster healthcare, one ranking puts a Florida hospital among the best in the nation.
U.S. News & World Report recently released its annual “Best Hospitals” rankings, which they say have been helping patients find the best hospital for their health needs for 35 years. Experts also evaluated 260 hospitals in Florida, with only 40 meeting U.S. News standards and recognized as Best Regional Hospitals.

How does U.S. News & World Report rank hospitals?
According to U.S. News & World Report, regional hospitals located in each region were ranked according to the number of points they earned:
Thus, the maximum points a hospital can get is 43. It also noted that a hospital on the “Best Hospitals Honor Roll” outranked all other hospitals not on the Honor Roll, regardless of point totals.
One Florida hospital among the top 20 in the country. Where is it?
Central Florida’s AdventHealth Orlando was declared the top hospital in Florida and among the top 20 in the nation. The hospital is on the “Best Hospitals Honor Roll,” which recognizes 20 hospitals that have excellent results in treating patients in the full range of adult care.
It is nationally ranked in 11 adult and three pediatric specialties and rated high performing in 22 adult procedures and conditions.
The hospital took to social media to thank its over 34,000 employees for helping it achieve this title.
“You bring out our best. We live out our mission of providing the highest level of care along with uncommon compassion to help every neighbor across Central Florida feel whole in body, mind and spirit,” their Facebook post said.
