Florida State is off to an incredible start in the 2027 recruiting cycle, yielding the top class in the nation coming into the weekend. On Sunday, their class got even stronger as defensive back Demond Scott Jr. announced his commitment to the Seminoles.
Scott was in attendance for FSU’s Junior Day in February, and the Rockledge, Florida product received an offer at the end of the month. He had offers from Pittsburgh and Marshall as well.
With Scott on board, Florida State now has five commitments in their 2027 class. He is the fourth defensive back along with Jaylen Scott, Mekhi Williams, and Bryce Williams, who are all four-star prospects.
As a sophomore in 2024, Scott registered 23 tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Scott isn’t ranked on any major recruiting sites at the moment.
Florida State is doing a nice job of giving cornerbacks coach Patrick Surtain Sr. and safeties coach Evan Cooper plenty of talent to work with in the future.
