Tulare city officials announced the reopening of Zumwalt Park on June 25.
The park, located at 455 E. Tulare Ave., has undergone “extensive” renovations, including installation of play structures and a new splash pad, city officials stated in a news release.
“This project represents our ongoing investment in the quality of life for Tulare residents,” City Manager Marc Mondell said. “We are thrilled to welcome the community back to Zumwalt Park and look forward to seeing families and friends enjoy this revitalized space.”
The park is now open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Zumwalt Park’s renovation is part of a broader initiative to bring more people to the downtown area, city officials said. Part of the renovations was the addition of the Adventist Health Amphitheatre.
City officials said that when there are ticketed events at the amphitheatre, the park will be closed to the general public.
“Event-specific park closures will be clearly communicated in advance with signage at the park and through the city’s social media channels,” city officials stated in the news release.
