A 19-year-old woman was found dead after apparently falling from a moving vehicle in Victorville early Monday, authorities said.
Deputies and paramedics first responded about 1:20 a.m. March 9 to a report of a woman lying in the roadway at Hesperia Road and Verde Street when they encountered the victim, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
Although witnesses initially thought the woman had been struck by a car, investigators determined she “had fallen from a moving vehicle,” agency spokeswoman Jenny Smith said. “No other vehicles were involved.”
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman died from her injuries at the scene, officials said. Her identity was not yet released.
No further details, including a description of the car the woman fell from, were available as the investigation continued Monday afternoon.
