A group of senior-living community leaders in Apple Valley recently sported red and black superhero costumes from the 2004 animated film “The Incredibles.”
The costume-wearing team from Whispering Winds senior living community in Apple Valley posed for a group photo to celebrate the incredible feat of maintaining 100% occupancy for three consecutive months.
The super feat included the facility earning a deficiency-free survey from the California Department of Social Services, Whispering Winds officials stated.
The facility also received recognition from a third-party vendor that ranked its kitchen among the best-run in Pegasus Senior Living’s management company portfolio of 40-plus communities.
The company said the team, which has for years been building toward the incredible feats, includes:
“Every single person in that photo—and Eddie, who couldn’t make it—brings something this community couldn’t function without,” said Jeff Gollihar, Whispering Winds of Apple Valley executive director. “I came up with the costume idea, but this team earned the title.”
Whispering Winds of Apple Valley also holds Best of the Best honors in Assisted Living and Memory Care from the High Desert People’s Choice Awards (2025) and U.S. News & World Report for two consecutive years.
