As the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder battle for the Western Conference crown and a spot in the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors are getting an early jump on NBA draft prep. Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Steve Kerr are beginning to bring in different groups of NBA draft prospects to the Bay Area for pre-draft workouts.
With players like Louisville guard Ryan Conwell, Tennessee guard Jacobi Gillespie, Houston wing Emanual Sharp, Duke forward Maliq Brown, Florida State guard Rob McCray and Miami center Ernest Udeh already making trips to Chase Center for pre-draft workouts, the Warriors are bringing in their next round of prospects on Wednesday.
Miami guard Tre Donaldson, St. John’s forward Dillon Mitchell and Vanderbilt sharp shooter Tyler Nickel are making the trip to San Francisco for a pre-draft workout with the Warriors.

Along with Miami, Donaldson played at Auburn and Michigan during his college career. In his final season under breakout head coach Jai Lucas, Donaldson averaged 16.4 points on 45.4% shooting from the field with 5.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per contest.
Mitchell also played at three universities (Texas, Cincinnati) during his college career, with his most recent campaign coming alongside Rick Pitino at St. John’s in New York. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 8.3 points on 55.7% shooting from the field with seven boards per contest.
Nickel transferred to Vanderbilt after one season at Virginia Tech and one season at North Carolina. Nickel shot 40% from beyond the arc in his two seasons at Vanderbilt. As one of the top shooters in the SEC, Nickel knocked down a career-best 110 3-pointers last season.
While all three prospects are rated outside of the first round, each of the three could be on the board when the Warriors make their selection at No. 54 overall in the second round.
