We are officially single-digit days away from the start of the 2026 USC football season! The Trojans will kick off their new campaign 99 days from today.
After a successful debut last year, we are bringing back countdown to kickoff once again! In this series, we will be counting down the days until the season opener by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we will be starting with number 99, Antwaun Woods.
Position: Defensive line
Years played at USC: 2011-2015
Career highlights: Woods arrived at USC as a member of Lane Kiffin’s vaunted 2011 recruiting class—a year in which the Trojans loaded up due to the impending scholarship limits caused by NCAA sanctions. After redshirting as a true freshman season, Woods took on a bigger role each year, becoming a full-time starter as a redshirt junior in 2014. In his 2015 senior season, he was named a team captain, recording 41 tackles and three sacks.
After USC: Woods had one of the best professional careers of any undrafted player to come out of USC in recent memory. Despite not being selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, Woods went on to play seven years in the league with four different teams.
Woods’s best years came with the Dallas Cowboys from 2018-2020, where he appeared in double-digit games each season. In 2018, he had a career-high 34 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and even a pass defended.
