UCLA baseball was eliminated on Tuesday in the College World Series following their 7-3 loss to Arkansas but it feels like a fitting exit due to the way that the Bruins have been getting pummeled all week in the Rocco’s Jello Shot Challenge, as they ended up trailing first place LSU by over 15,000 Jello Shots as of their elimination Tuesday night.
UCLA outperformed its No. 15 national seed. The Bruins were not a frontline favorite to make Omaha and the College World Series when the 64-team NCAA Baseball Tournament began. The Bruins very legitimately and clearly overachieved this season. They have a lot to be proud of. Now we will see if they can take the next step and not only return to Omaha, but make the semifinals and potentially the CWS finals. If the Bruins can get that far, maybe they will be able to place higher in the Rocco’s Jello Shot Challenge. They were left in the dust this year, as you can see below:
No. 1 LSU
20,279 Shots
No. 2 Arkansas
7,717 Shots
No. 3 Murray State
7,709 Shots
No. 4 Coastal Carolina
5,263 Shots
No. 5 Oregon State
1,808 Shots
No. 6 Arizona
1,741 Shots
No. 7 Louisville
1,769 Shots
No. 8 UCLA
1,401 Shots
