The UCLA Bruins will have a new offensive line coach in 2026 after the Bruins last offensive line coach, Andy Kwon, was hired by the Memphis Tigers to become their offensive line coach over in the AAC.
Kwon spent just one season in Westwood with the Bruins, being hired on from Arkansas State to join DeShaun Foster’s staff. UCLA will hope to see improved play from their offensive line next year, the Bruins finished 12th in the Big Ten with 139.7 rushing yards per game.
UCLA’s offensive line was also a heavily penalized group. The Bruins led the Big Ten with 7.5 penalties per game, with a good many of those coming from Kwon’s group up front. UCLA will need improvements, as they’re not talented enough to overcome the 65.6 penalty yards per game. Kwon’s impact wasn’t just on the field, as he was also a key recruiter for the Bruins.
Now Kwon will join a Memphis team coming off of an 8-5 season, with the Tigers falling 31-7 to NC State in the Gasparilla Bowl. It will be Kwon’s third career offensive line coaching job, as he also served as a tight ends coach for Arkansas State and as a graduate assistant at Alabama and Akron.
New UCLA head coach Bob Chesney has brought over much of his own staff from James Madison, so it’s unclear if Kwon could have remained with UCLA in the same position for the 2026 season but now the Bruins will have to find a new coach to bring together a new-look offensive line for UCLA in 2026.
