A truck driver died early Friday, Aug. 21, when a big rig overturned on Interstate 10 just east of Chiriaco Summit, the California Highway Patrol said.
First reported at 7:25 a.m., the crash caused an eastbound lane to be closed for hours.
A freightliner trailer hauling a tractor drove into the median causing the vehicle to overturn, according to City News Service. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Riverside County coroner later identified him as Marco Rodriguez Lopez, 41, of Los Angeles.
