CLEVELAND ― Deshaun Watson may very well be starting the next time the Browns play a home game, either in the preseason or regular season. For the Aug. 22 preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, he was coming off the bench.
Watson came on to open the third quarter against the Bills, greeted by boos from many of the rain-drenched fans remaining, a number of whom were wearing Buffalo jerseys. He had started the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears.
Shedeur Sanders started against Buffalo after having come off the bench in the third quarter against the Bears. He and Watson are likely to find out who’ll start the season opener in Jacksonville early next week.
Watson played into the fourth quarter, finishing off a drive that started in the third.
