The 28th annual Tour de Palm Springs rolled into downtown Saturday, bringing thousands of cyclists and a series of significant street closures across Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.
This year’s ride — themed “Honoring Military, First Responders and Veterans” — features multiple routes for all skill levels and has become one of the region’s largest charity events. Since 1998, it has raised nearly $5 million for more than 150 local nonprofits.

Drivers and residents are urged to plan ahead, as several key roads will be closed or restricted throughout the day:
The event began at 6:30 a.m., with the final group of walkers leaving at 10 a.m. Activities continue through 5 p.m.
This year’s honorary guests include retired professional cyclist Frankie Andreu, a nine-time Tour de France competitor, and Bill and Deanna Young, longtime Salvation Army board members.
