Kyren Williams isn’t ready to give up his spot as the Los Angeles Rams’ starting running back, but Blake Corum has become an important player in the backfield. Corum took on a much bigger role last season than the one he saw as a rookie in 2024, more than doubling his carry total (58 to 145) and nearly quadrupling his rushing yards (207 to 746).
Entering Year 3, Corum’s stock is even higher. And one former Rams star is expecting big things.
In the comments of a new workout video featuring Corum, Rams legend Todd Gurley hyped up the former Michigan Wolverine.
“It’s going to be spooky this season” Gurley wrote.
Corum’s workouts this offseason have been crazy, showing off his incredible balance and agility – two of the things that make him a dynamic back for the Rams. He’s a terrific complement to Williams, being a shiftier and faster version of the Rams starter.
A 1,000-yard season from Corum is within reach, especially if Sean McVay increases his workload again and he maintains his remarkable efficiency with an average of 5.1 yards per carry.
Sports Illustrated ranked Williams and Corum as the best running back duo in the NFL this year, so big things could be on tap for Los Angeles’ rushing attack.
