San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is having an incredible season that’s stemmed from his heavy usage through his team’s first 13 games of the year.
Heading into the bye week, McCaffrey has rushed for 849 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 85 passes for 806 additional yards and five scores. He’s leading the league in carries (237) and is tied for seventh (with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua) in targets (107).
This year has been historic for McCaffrey, as he’s accomplished or is on pace to accomplish the following feats (per ESPN’s Adam Schefter):
While McCaffrey hasn’t been the most efficient back this year, averaging a career-low 3.6 yards per carry, he’s still the focal point of the offense, and as long as he’s healthy, he’ll be Brock Purdy’s go-to guy.
