The Athletic has Ja'Kobi Lane to AFC East team in final mock draft

Even with all the predictions mock draft season brings, no one really ever gets a perfect mock draft that goes according to plan. That opens the door for talented players to slide in very unpredicted fashion. A player of Ja’Kobi Lane’s caliber could be this year’s player that slides but ends up being a huge steal.

In a final mock draft before the NFL draft officially kicks off, Dane Brugler views the Dolphins as a landing spot for Ja’Kobi Lane. Brugler has the Dolphins selecting Lane in the 5th round with pick 151.

Getting a talented receiver in round 5 would be like highway robbery for Miami. The Dolphins have not had a dominant force on the outside in quite some time, but Lane will still give them the speed needed to make this offense a force. Malik Willis will need weapons to show he can be the Dolphins franchise guy in his redemption as a starter. Lane will provide him with a weapon with beneficial versatility.

Jaylen Waddle is a big loss for this offense, but with a new era starting in Miami, there is real potential that one of their best offensive pieces could fall to them in round 5. I think this could be a great landing spot for Ja’Kobi Lane.
