A man shot and killed over the weekend in Stockton was identified by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office Monday.
Jack Wesby Jr., 69 of Stockton, was found with gunshot wounds on March 22 in the area of South El Dorado Street and East Hazelton Avenue. Officers responded to the area on a report of a person shot and at the scene found Wesby Jr. who had been shot.
Police said Wesby Jr. was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives were notified of the homicide and responded to take over the investigation.
Wesby Jr’s. death marked the fifth homicide of 2026 compared to seven last year at the same time.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Stockton Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Stockton Crime Stoppers at 209-946-0600.
