Sheriff’s officials are searching for a Riverside man who vanished while camping with his fiancée near Big Bear Lake over the weekend.
Brian Schofield, 47, was last seen when he went to sleep about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Yellow Post Campsite 33, in the Fawnskin area north of Big Bear Lake, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
“When his fiancée awoke in the morning, Brian was nowhere to be found,” the agency said in a community bulletin.
Schofield was described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, camouflage shorts, a gray beanie and orange hiking boots.
No further details were available.
