From the start of free agency, the Golden State Warriors have been linked to a flurry of names. Headlined by their reported interest in LeBron James, the Warriors have also been connected to other free agents since the start of summer, including Rui Hachimura.
According to Mark Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Warriors and Hachimura had been in contact. However, the former Los Angeles Lakers forward will be staying in Southern California instead of relocating to the Bay Area.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Hachimura is signing a two-year, $28 million contract to join the Los Angeles Clippers.
As they wait for a decision from James, the Warriors have stayed relatively quiet at the start of free agency, re-signing a few of their own, including Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton.
As the Clippers rebuild following the trade of Kawhi Leonard, Hachimura will join Darius Garland, Brandon Ingram, Bennedict Mathurin and rookie Keaton Wagler in Los Angeles.
