Coming out of the offseason program, the Los Angeles Rams continue to churn the bottom part of their roster. On Wednesday, the team announced it has waived wide receiver Quintez Cephus.
The Rams originally added Cephus last September when they signed him to their practice squad following his release from the Houston Texans a few weeks prior. He then signed a reserve/futures deal with the Rams this offseason but won’t be joining the team for training camp in July.

Cephus came into the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2020. He’s caught just 37 passes for 568 yards and four touchdowns since then, most of which came in his first two years in Detroit.
Cephus was a long shot to make the Rams’ roster anyway but it could make the path for Konata Mumpfield even easier this summer.
