Rams pass rushers are among the best at generating pressures that force turnovers

The greatness of the Los Angeles Rams’ defense derives from its pass rush. The Rams are among the best at getting to the quarterback, but that pressure has also been crucial in another element of defense: forcing turnovers.

Since the beginning of the 2024 season through Week 11 of the 2025 season, Rams edge rushers Bryon Young and Jared Verse rank Nos. 1 and 2 in pressures that cause turnovers, according to Next Gen Stats. Young has nine such pressures during that span, while Verse has seven. Braden Fiske, meanwhile, also ranks in the top-10 with four of his own.

This impact was evident in the Week 11 win over the Seattle Seahawks. While the Rams didn’t record a sack in that game, the defense generated 12 pressures. Young led the way with five and Verse added three. The result: Four interceptions, two of which were directly caused by pressures from Young.

Those moments turned the tide in a tight divisional game. The turnovers set up the Rams’ offense nicely and allowed them to keep the Seahawks at arms’ length the entire contest before ultimately winning the game.
