The Los Angeles Rams could be a fit for two proven veterans still on the free-agent market as training camp gets underway.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox named the Rams a logical landing spot for both offensive tackle Taylor Decker and edge rusher Von Miller in a breakdown of the best free agents still available ahead of the 2026 preseason.
Decker, 32, became a surprise cut this offseason after the Detroit Lions asked him to take a pay cut and the two sides couldn’t agree on revised terms. He allowed just two sacks in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus, which graded him as the 41st-best offensive tackle in the league. Knox wrote that Decker “would make the most sense for a legitimate contender looking to add some insurance to its offensive line,” pointing to the Rams alongside the Chicago Bears.
That insurance would be especially relevant in Los Angeles after longtime right tackle Rob Havenstein announced his retirement in February following 11 seasons with the franchise. Havenstein started 148 regular-season games and won a Super Bowl with the Rams, but injuries limited him to just seven games in 2025, opening the door for Warren McClendon Jr. to take over at right tackle. Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson could still face some form of discipline after a June domestic violence arrest, despite not facing felony charges.
Miller, meanwhile, already has a championship pedigree with the Rams. The future Hall of Famer was traded from Denver to Los Angeles in November 2021 and helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI, recording nine sacks in 12 games with the team, including the playoffs, and adding two sacks in the Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller spent last season with the Washington Commanders, playing 37% of the defensive snaps while totaling nine sacks, six tackles for loss and 19 quarterback pressures.
Whether either move materializes remains to be seen, but both would address real needs for a Rams team looking to reload its trenches ahead of a playoff push.
