Raising Cane’s opening in Victorville a ‘success,’ new Apple Valley restaurant coming soon

In between bites of her meal, customer Monica Rodriguez said the Raising Cane’s debut in Victorville looked like a “huge success.”

Many braved the cold for hours on Tuesday, Nov. 18, as they waited in line for the restaurant’s 9 a.m. grand opening on Roy Rogers Drive.

Rodriguez told the Daily Press she was excited to see so many people in line at her “favorite restaurant.”

“After seeing the long line, I drove back home and came back after things died down,” said Rodriquez, who lives about five minutes away from the new store.

Rodriguez added that until Tuesday, she was a frequent customer at the Raising Cane’s in Hesperia.

“This store is now my home base, and the Three Finger Combo and Diet Coke is my go-to order,” she added.

Freebies, hometown decor

Raising Cane’s employees said the first customer in line on opening day received a one-of-a-kind gift basket, which included a T-shirt, free meals coupons, magnets, a dog mascot toy and more.

A group of customers, called the “Lucky 20,” walked away winners of a drawing for free Raising Cane’s food for a year.

While a handful of customers used the store’s double-drive-through, many stood in line to enter the bright and colorful dining area.

Victorville native Mallory Brown said she appreciated Raising Cane’s for its High Desert-themed decor, which included a Route 66 sign and framed photos of former area residents.

Some of the photos included “American Idol” Chayce Beckham, MMA champion and Olympic wrestler Dan Henderson and music legends Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

“They even had a photo of a kid wearing a High Desert Maverick jacket at the old stadium in Adelanto,” Brown said. “It’s just a nice touch.”

Raising Cane’s opening week also included check presentations to Victor Valley High School Athletics and Rock’n Our Disabilities Foundation.

During the grand opening, Raising Cane’s crew members were seen promoting the store’s tie-in with the 1983 holiday movie classic “The Christmas Story.”

One ad piece is a cardboard cutout of the movie character Ralphie Parker reluctantly wearing a pink bunny rabbit costume, gifted to him by his aunt Clara.

The Victorville Raising Cane’s is open from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Thursday to Saturday.

Raising Cane’s Apple Valley

Meanwhile, construction continues on the Raising Cane’s in the Apple Bear Shopping Center on Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley, which recently welcomed Sprouts Farmers Market and Mister Car Wash.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, a company spokesman told the Daily Press the Apple Valley Raising Cane’s is expected to open in early 2026.

The presence of Raising Cane’s in the High Desert is part of the company’s aggressive expansion into the area, which started in 2021 with the opening of a store in Barstow and later that year in Hesperia.

Raising Cane’s is known for its chicken fingers and Cane Sauce, which it calls a “top-secret recipe” made of a special blend of spices.
