One of the biggest storylines of the 2025 offseason was the infamous Ammortal chamber Matthew Stafford used instead of attending practice. The Los Angeles Rams quarterback had been dealing with a back injury throughout training camp and missed the entire preseason
Clearly, the machine worked. Stafford played the entire season and ended up leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns before winning MVP. Not much has been said about the chamber since its use, but Rams receiver Puka Nacua described its power with ESPN’s Pat McAfee this week.
“I’ve been in the Ammortal Chamber and it’s the best 50 minutes of my life,” Nacua said.
He added that there are different settings, and there’s a soothing female voice during a session the chamber that sounds like Cortana from the Halo video game series.
Listen to his breakdown:
Maybe the magic worked on Nacua, too, as the star receiver had a career season with a league-best 129 receptions for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. Nacua played in 16 of 17 games.
With Stafford officially returning for the 2026 season, it stands to reason the Rams may wheel out the Ammortal chamber once again to keep their 38-year-old quarterback as healthy as possible for another Super Bowl run.
