A feel-good USC football story could be developing in Las Vegas. Pete Carroll is the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. One player on the roster is USC’s Greedy Vance. Raiders Wire editor Levi Damien told us what Pete Carroll said about Vance at a recent camp session:
“Devin White really jumped out, both these two days. He’s a ball player. And Jamal [Adams] too. They’re just football players that really understand the game, they’ve got a way about them and you give them a chance. Greedy Vance, he did a nice job too. He’s a young kid coming out of nowhere, not USC nowhere, but just being a free agent and all that, little guy, he played like crazy yesterday and again today.”
The Raiders’ secondary is in flux. The organization traded away Jakorian Bennett, a cornerback, for a defensive tackle. Safety Lonnie Johnson just got injured. There are a lot of moving parts here, with Pete Carroll needing to reconfigure the look of the Vegas back line. Greedy Vance has a chance to not only play for the Raiders, but become a very important piece of the new puzzle being assembled for the Silver and Black.
If Greedy Vance stars for Pete Carroll, the Vegas Raiders will contain two big USC football storylines, not just one. Pure Hollywood? Pure Vegas? Why not both?
