Perryman will bring leadership

A crucial election is approaching, and it’s time to take an honest look at leadership.

Many in our community placed their trust in Supervisor Jeff Gorell. Four years later, that trust has not been rewarded. Instead, we’ve seen a do-nothing politician — more focused on photo opportunities and outside consulting work than delivering real results. Residents pay for a full-time supervisor yet see little to no tangible improvements for our communities.

Meanwhile, Gorell rubber-stamped county budgets while the Public Works Department mismanaged WaterWorks District 19. Nearly $2.4 million in reserves were depleted as local wells — once supplying almost all of our water — went offline. Rather than fix the underlying issues, the county relied on expensive imported water, draining funds that should have been protected.

Then came the breaking point: residents were asked to accept an 11.9% rate increase to replenish reserves — without any meaningful infrastructure, capital, or operational plan to justify it. Our community was rightfully outraged.

Instead of accepting this failure, we took action. Working alongside supervisor candidate Mark Perryman and a water expert from his team, we organized our neighbors and mobilized our district. Together, we submitted over 400 protest letters — successfully rejecting the county’s proposal and sending a clear message that mismanagement will not be tolerated.

This is the leadership we need: someone who understands the complexity of county government and has the experience, plans, and determination to fix what’s broken.

Mark Perryman is that leader. He brings real-world expertise, a results-driven approach, and a commitment to accountability that has been sorely lacking. Quite frankly, he is a breath of fresh air for Ventura County.

I urge voters to reject the status quo, reject mismanagement, and reject candidates running partisan campaigns for this non-partisan office without the experience to govern.

Vote for Mark Perryman for Ventura County Supervisor.

Perryman is the right choice

As someone who recently lost my IT job at Amgen due to restructuring, I’ve experienced firsthand what many American workers are now facing.

My role — like many of my colleagues’ — was eliminated as positions were shifted to India. This isn’t abstract. It’s real people, real families, and real careers impacted by decisions that prioritize overseas labor over local talent.

While I am not a Ventura County resident, your community deserves to know this: Supervisor Jeff Gorell actively worked with Amgen and even traveled to India to support the expansion of an office there. Today, that facility employs over 4,000 people in IT and HR — roles that, in many cases, were once based in Thousand Oaks or filled by U.S. contractors.

At the same time, Gorell is attempting to take credit for Amgen’s recent investment in Thousand Oaks. But that investment was widely driven by federal tariff pressure — not local leadership. And while it may create short-term construction jobs, it is not expected to generate significant long-term employment opportunities.

If you care about keeping jobs in America, supporting local workers, and ensuring elected officials actually fight for your economic future, this matters.

Ventura County deserves leadership that prioritizes its residents — not policies or partnerships that contribute to exporting their livelihoods.

That’s why I believe Mark Perryman is the right choice.
