Ohio State Buckeyes have their next lockdown corner: Devin Sanchez

The Ohio State Buckeyes are most known for developing and creating some of the best receivers in the NFL. They also deserve some credit for the number of talented defensive backs they are able to send to the NFL. Even with the loss of Caleb Downs, it is still business as usual. OSU has another set of NFL-ready defensive prospects. In a recent article, Matt De Lima names a Buckeye who is generating a lot of buzz heading into this upcoming season. Here is what he had to say about corner Devin Sanchez:

“Sanchez struggled with the weight of expectations during his freshman year. “Last year, I feel like it was heavy,” the corner said this spring. Despite that, he played 321 snaps at cornerback last season, earned the trust of the coaching staff, and is now penciled in as a full-time starter opposite Jermaine Mathews Jr. He has since set his sights on the Jim Thorpe Award and called his shot: “I’m not freshman Devin no more.”

Sanchez is entering this season with experience under his belt and the traits to be one of the best corners in the country. More than likely, he could be the player charged with limiting Tanook Hines’ production in Week 11. Sanchez will be a player the whole Big Ten conference will be focused on, and a player the Trojans will need to keep an eye out for prior to their game.
