Nominate a woman who helped shape the nation over 250 years

As the United States marks 250 years, USA TODAY and the USA TODAY Network are asking readers to help us recognize the women who shaped this nation — leaders, creators, organizers, innovators and changemakers whose impact still resonates today.

We’re collecting nominations for the 250 Women who Shaped the Nation. These are women from the past 250 years, living or dead, whose work, courage or influence helped shape the United States. Nominate someone from your community, your state, or the national stage. Share her story, why she mattered, and the legacy she left behind.

You can submit a written nomination in the form below — or, if you prefer, share your story in your own video. (Can’t see the form? Click here.)

Selected stories will help inform USA TODAY’s national project honoring women who made history. We’ll share the final list with readers in March, when we celebrate USA TODAY’s Women of the Year honorees.
