Watch: Matthew Stafford draws up plays while coaching daughters' flag football team

While the Los Angeles Rams were busy working their way through the 2026 NFL Draft, Matthew Stafford was putting on his coaching hat. Not in preparation for his new mentorship role with Ty Simpson in the picture, but for his daughters’ flag football team.

Stafford’s wife shared a video of the Rams quarterback coaching his daughters’ flag football squad, drawing up plays and teaching them about pursuit angles.

He even taught them about reading the quarterback’s eyes, something no defender should ever dare to do against him while in coverage.

“Quarterback’s eyes, if they start to go throw it that way, right? If you’re the furthest from it, maybe you start taking that angle just to make sure they don’t score, right?” he said in the huddle.

Stafford has seen every type of coverage and defense there is in his 17 years as an NFL quarterback. If he wants a career in coaching after he’s done playing, he certainly has the chops to go down that route.

But considering how much he loves spending time with his family, he probably won’t venture into that realm after 18-plus years in the NFL. He’ll definitely have more fun coaching his daughters’ flag football teams anyway.
