Man hospitalized after being shot in foot in Oxnard
A man in Oxnard with a gunshot wound to the foot was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center on March 31, according to authorities.
Officers with the Oxnard Police Department arrived at the 5700 block of Perkins Road just before 10 a.m. after receiving a call of a man with a gunshot wound, said police Cmdr. Miguel Serrato.
Police located a 48-year-old man, described as homeless, with a gunshot wound to the foot that he had reportedly received hours earlier, Serrato said.
The man was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center in stable condition, the police commander said.
Police have not identified the shooter, but continue to investigate the incident, Serrato said.

4 arrested in alleged burglary, attempted carjacking in Oxnard
Two men and two minors were arrested in connection with a burglary and attempted vehicle theft in Oxnard on March 30.
Officers with the Oxnard Police Department arrived at the 300 block of Bard Road a little past 11 p.m. after receiving a call that a vehicle had its window smashed, said police Cmdr. Miguel Serrato.
Police identified a vehicle described, believed to be the suspects’ vehicle, and located it driving eastbound on Bard, Serrato said. Officers pulled the vehicle over and found two men and a 17-year-old inside.
A 16-year-old was also believed to have been in the vehicle at some point but had exited before being contacted by police.
One suspect was found to have a window-smashing tool, and a search of the vehicle uncovered additional burglary tools, the police commander said.
Two men, 18 and 19 years old, were arrested on suspicion of felonies for conspiracy, second-degree burglary, and attempted unlawful taking of a vehicle, as well as a felony for possession of burglary tools, jail records show.
The men were booked into Ventura County jail with bail set at $500,000. They are scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on April 2.
